What a beautiful day the Lord has made!

Days like today make us really appreciate living here in Alaska. And more specifically, the north part of the island. It was so peaceful and sunny at Settler's Cove this morning. We went early to beat the mad rush I was sure was going to be there. Wow, there was nobody there and I felt so blessed to be able to be there with my family. We didn't have any sand toys so Robert suggested cups and tupperware containers. What a smart man I married! The kids had such a great time and we even stretched out on the sand... Oh, this is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it...

When I Survey The Wondrous Cross

I recently heard an arrangement by Kathryn Scott of this wonderful hymn. I have felt the Lord working on me through the words and I would like to share them with you.

When I survey the wonderous cross, on which the Prince of Glory Died. My richest gain I count but loss, and pour contempt on all my pride. Forbid it Lord that I should boast, save in the death of Christ my God. All the vain things that charm me most, I sacrifice them to His Blood. See from His head His hands His feet, sorrow and love flow mingled down. Did e'er such love and sorrow meet, or thorns compose so rich a crown. Were the whole realm of nature mine, that were an offering far too small. Love so amazing so divine, demands my soul, demands my soul, love demands my soul, my life, my all.

I think the verse about vain things charming us most is so relevant in my life right now. There are things that at first glance don't appear wrong or bad for you. In fact they are good things. But when they start to pull my gaze from my Lord, they become vain things. Thank you Lord for using this beautiful hymn to speak to me. I hope that it will speak to all who read it as well.

Nason Clan
Well, we had a great day yesterday, despite the late morning rain. We met some friends over at Point Higgins School to play at the park and check out the library. It is a very nice library. We even got to see Jaden and Adam with Kristie Baum. I hope it gave Helen a good rest.
Last night we went to Seibukan class at the rec center. The kids still like going and Robert and I get to have an hour to our selves. We have been playing ping-pong, and it is quite hilarious. After that we went to a campaign event for Sean Parnell who is running for lt. governor here in Alaska. He is a nice Christian man and I am looking forward to hearing more about the political race. It is nice to meet people that have lived here in Alaska their whole lives. It gives a nice old home feeling to the place.
Becky, I love the pictures you have posted and it looks like you are doing well. We are looking forward to seeing more.
Helen, I enjoyed seeing the great pictures of Jasen and the kids. They do have a wonderful Daddy.
Bye for now!
